Barbara Taylor

Barbara Taylor has professional experience in a broad range of musical activities including music educator, music publisher, record producer, symphony musician, composer, and director for the HOME School Program. Taylor also started a band program at the Master's Academy of Fine Arts in Covington and North Henry Christian Academy. She teaches private music lessons on piano, oboe, and all woodwinds.

Taylor, a native of Wichita, Kansas received her Bachelor of Music degree at Florida State University with a major in oboe performance and minors in piano and music theory. She received a Master of Music degree at the University of Florida. She performed for eight years as an oboist with the Jacksonville (FL) Symphony Orchestra. Folowing that she became the conductor of the Alachua County Youth Orchestra program at the University of Florida in Gainesville.

After moving to Atlanta, Taylor founded Rising Star Records and Publishers, an independent record label and music publishing house. She produced 35 CD releases earning her a spot as a voting member of the Grammy Awards sponsored by the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (NARAS).

Taylor has authored several books on music business topids and had her own compostions appear on commercial CD releases. She has been listed in "Who's Who in American Women".

Taylor is an active member of Eagle's Landing Christian Church where she plays piano for church services and works with youth musicians. Previously she attended McDonough United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Chancel Choir and the director of the Youth Choir.

 Lucy Hudson Stembridge

Styles Taught:

Lucy Hudson Stembridge is a professional singer, vocal music teacher, and choral director. She also writes and arranges songs. Her experience includes being a Staff Soprano at St. Mark UMC, as well as teaching voice, and presenting workshops for choral groups. She holds a Bachelor of Music Education-Voice Performance (Piano Secondary) from Converse College School of Music and a Master’s in Vocal Performance from Ga. State University, including a special project-course in vocal pedagogy (how to teach voice) in which she learned and demonstrated techniques from all the university voice professors’ studios. She studied dance with Atlanta Ballet and theatre with Alliance.

Her experience includes directing church and community choirs, teaching music in public and private schools, and writing/developing songs, shows, and arrangements. She teaches private lessons in voice, piano and guitar. She was recently honored as the soloist for the Governor's Mansion Tree Lighting. She has conducted and sung professionally in the Southeast U.S. A. and Europe, including the premiere follow-up performance of Curtis Bryant's “Cantata for One Earth”, sung by the gathered United Nations 50 Choir, and attended by former First Couple Jimmy and Roselyn Carter. She also enjoyed singing the soprano solos in ChoralFest - Moses Hogan Spirituals under the baton of Dr. Norma Raybon. Along with her performing career, she enjoys sharing her knowledge and seeing singers grow.

Her teaching experience includes 5 years as the Choral Director (including 2 years as Magnet Voice Teacher) at Mt. Zion High/Fine Arts Magnet School, as well as 5 years in other systems. She has formed and directed 2 choral groups: Synergy (ages 7 - 14) and Millennium Singers (Adults); both groups did a variety of styles of music with staging/choreography. Five consecutive summers she has been the soprano soloist and vocal coach for the W. Baker Choral Groups, whose concerts have included Mozart’s Requiem and Schubert’s Mass in G. She worked as the requested Vocal Coach for two contemporary Gospel groups - The Chosen Vessels, (adults) and Wee B Sunday School (youth). She directed music for CAST’s Cinderella and Treasure Island, and N.H.S.’s Forum. She is married to Frank (software engineer and pianist) and the mother of Gwen (singer and outreach coordinator).
